Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has expressed dissatisfaction with the finishing touches of the Mabushi Bus Terminal project in Abuja. Despite being 90% completed, Wike noted that significant work remains to be done to meet his expectations.

During an inspection on Tuesday, Wike pointed out several areas requiring correction, emphasizing that the finishing touches are crucial for the project’s success.

“I will not accept the finishing; the finishing is key for this kind of project,” he stated.

The contractor has been instructed to rectify the issues before the terminal’s expected inauguration in May, coinciding with President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office.

Other Projects Inspected:

* Apo-Wasa Road: Wike expressed confidence that the Apo-Wasa Road would be ready for inauguration by President Tinubu in May, along with the interchanges linking Wole Soyinka Way with Murtala Mohammed Way and Shehu Yar’Adua Way to Utako and Jabi districts.

* Bus Terminals in Kugbo and Central Area: Construction is ongoing, with expectations of completion on schedule. The FCT Minister recently flagged off the construction of another bus terminal in the Central Business District, bringing the number of bus terminals under construction to three.

Wike emphasized the importance of integrating bus terminals with road infrastructure to provide a holistic transportation system, tackling insecurity and enhancing the overall passenger experience in Abuja.
