The 4 Brigade Nigerian Army in Benin has uncovered a hideout of suspected Internet fraudsters and arrested 31 persons in connection with cybercrime and ritual-related activities. The operation was carried out on Monday in a building within First Bank Estate, Awesome Garden, along the Benin-Sapele Bypass.

Acting on a tip-off, troops led by the Brigade Commander, Ebenezer Oduyebo, stormed the location and recovered several items, including a Toyota vehicle, smartphones, laptops, cash, and fetish materials. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were lured to the location by the syndicate’s leader, Mr. Marvin Osabhuoyen, who promised them lucrative job offers abroad but forced them into criminal activities.

The arrested suspects have been handed over to the Edo State Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for further interrogation and possible prosecution. The Brigade Commander has commended the troops for their bravery and vigilance, warning criminal syndicates that their days are numbered.
