The FCT Police Command has recovered three stolen vehicles and arrested eight suspects, including a husband-and-wife duo, in separate incidents.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the arrests were made following reports of stolen vehicles. The husband-and-wife duo, Yusuf Yunusa and Blessing Yusuf, were arrested for stealing a gold Toyota Corolla. The wife confessed to purchasing Toyota master keys from Jumia online marketplace, which her husband used to steal vehicles.

In another incident, five suspects were arrested for stealing a black Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC E-400. The vehicle was recovered, and the suspects confessed to stealing it from their employer.

Additionally, a driver who stole his employer’s unregistered Toyota Hilux Adventure was tracked down and arrested in Akwa Ibom State.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Ajao S. Adewale, has encouraged residents to install tracking devices in their vehicles and verify vehicle ownership before purchase.

The suspects are in police custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
